fun with phototag.

Since I can't get my shit together to do a real post, I think I'll procrastinate with this fun phototag game I saw at keeping up with kelly & co. I've always been an excellent procrastinator!!

Here are the rules:
  1. Open your 1st Photo Folder
  2. Scroll to the 10th photo
  3. Post the photo (no cheating) and the story behind it
  4. Tag 5 or more people
Alright, here's my #10, and even though I look ridiculously amazing... I promise I didn't cheat!!

Here we have Miss Shelby and me in Whistler MLK Weekend 2008.

Aaah, Whistler... Whistler is like Mardi Gras with snow. Hmm, I could go for a Kokanee right meow. But I digress...

Shelby is a bff from highschool. AMAZING. Heart of Gold. More fun than coloring on Adderall.

Incidentally, it is Miss Shelby's 26th Birthday this weekend. As such,  I'm feeling pretty confident that my weekend might be better than yours ;-)

Anywho, in this pic we are clearly having an amazing time. Not sure what we're doing, exactly, but if I had to guess we're at the Dubh Linn Gate, because it's the only place in Whistler that actually requires you to be 21 to come in.

Since MLK Weekend also = UW College weekend for 18 years olds with fake IDs that say they're 19, this Irish Bar is about the only place we can go if we don't wanna see this:

'Nuff  said?

PS - know how I found this pic? I googled "short skirt uggs hot girls" - Google FAIL. But mental pic, if you will. They abound in Whistler MLK Weekend.

Tall Uggs + Short Skirts + Snow = Cold UW teenyboppers.

Now, I "tag" a few bloggy McBlogsters:

See, wasn't that fun? Don't have hurt feelers if you didn't get tagged. You can procrastinate play too! (I did.)

I must be a good girl...

... because Santa spoiled me this year.

Seriously, Joe and my family (and even my secret santa) went wayyy overboard and spoiled.me.rotten. except really, I'm a sweetheart. So it's okay :-) But umm, just some of my loot:

AND... in case you missed it, we're going to Whistler on Thursday!! Sooo excited :-) And clearly Mister Joe is excited too, because he is waxing our skis right now. Oh yeahhhhh!!!

what is this, work??

So it's Tuesday at 4:45 PM and I have done pretty much nothing this week at work. Yesterday I didn't get in until 2:30 because I spent the morning and a good part of the afternoon at the Dentist office getting my teeth bleached (Christmas present from my mom) with this Brite Smile stuff...

Just FYI - they call it a "gentle and relaxing" procedure. Umm, no. I do not call three hours of having your mouth stuck open with sunscreen lathered on your lips and face, bleach applied to your teeth and gums, and then microwaved (or something) either "gentle" or "relaxing" ... and that's not even discussing the major pain for the 24 hours following... the fact that my teeth physically hurt, and that I couldn't smoke... both painful.

Yes, I smoke. And drink red wine. And coffee. I guess that's a lot of drugs for one sentence? But I digress.. clearly, these vices are why I needed my teeth bleached (or so my mom thinks). I will say, they look quite nice!! I mean, seriously. It worked well.

Was it worth it? I don't know... for one I didn't pay for it, and I hear it's pretty spendy. But I will say I definitely wasn't a happy camper with the dental assistant during the procedure, as she kept repeating "Beauty is pain" ... seriously... and I couldn't even tell her to shut the f*ck up please be quiet because I had a dental dam in my mouth.

Moving on....

Kind of, but not really. Because it feels like time stands still between Christmas and New Years. Is there really any reason anyone goes to work this week? I have done very little.. and that is putting it... optimistically. I can't help it... I'm counting down ... to.....WHISTLER!!!!

Yup, going to Whistler to celebrate New Years and I.CAN'T.WAIT. I did spend a good portion of my day researching New Year's Eve parties and sending out e-mails to our crew to gauge pre-reservation-making level of interest. (I'm the planner of the group, if my Type-A personality hasn't clearly shone through in my blogging.)

Anyway, I am not going to be too hard on myself about this whole lack-of-working thing, because after all ... it's Christmas Break!! Or at least it was for the first 23 years of my life, so I'm going to go with, umm yeah! I don't have to do a damn thing.

Except wait... until....

2010!!!!

Wishful Wednesday - Whistler!!!

I wish I could re-live
Spring Skiing in Whistler
over and over again!!

This was a WW topic from guest blogger Tracy at The Seattle Smiths...

Disclamier 1: Lots of pictures to follow.
Disclaimer 2: It's such a great topic that I might have to sneak a couple extra Wishes in at the end.

Spring skiing in Whistler is heaven on earth. Can't beat a ski trip weekend with good friends, great snow and sunshine! We always stay in the same Stoney Creek Condominiums and cram a ton of us (and our dogs... huge plus for me!) into the place. We pack up lots of food and drinks and split everything, so it actually works out to be quite affordable. The condo has it's own hot tub and is just a few minutes from the gondolas. It's pretty much awesomesauce.

This past April was INCREDIBLE. We went up for Telus Festival, and we couldn't have asked for better snow / weather / group of people / hilarious stories / amazing fun times.

Chair lift to the top of Blackcomb. BLUE SKIES!

Here I am. On top of the world... (or about half way down, haha)

My sis, dear friend Ashley, college bud Zach, bf Joe and me..
at the top of Blackcomb

Just Joe and me :-)

My boys (sans Bondi) and me on a chair lift...
These two bad-ass skiiers were tough to keep up with!

Me, happy as a clam, on the new...
Peak-to-Peak Gondola from top of Whistler to top of Blackcomb!!!
May have just shotgunned a Kokanee.

Some of us girls, slopeside at the lodge.
My college roomie Lucy (the witty one, remember?) is on my left.

4:30 PM - Apres slopeside! :-)

Of course there's lots more to Whistler... chillin' in the condo, great shopping, and zillions of nightlife options from Irish bars to techno clubs. But being on the biggest mountain(s) in North America in great conditions with amazing friends... it just doesn't get much better than that.

POST SCRIPT

A close 2nd place goes to Deep-Sea Fishing in Cozumel with Joe. It was just the two of us, the captain and the open sea! Oh, and this 36" 25 lb BAD ASS BARRACUDA that I caught! I felt bad about it, except that we ate it for dinner, and what we didn't eat we gave to the staff at the hotel.

And... 3rd place goes to REHAB at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas. I've been twice, and I'm QUITE sure this outrageous pool party would make 1st or 2nd place, except I can't remember why ;-) Here's a nice bloggable picture... my others didn't make the cut.
